CONCEPT: FLEETING

Fleeting (title might change) is a short film concept of poetry, visuals and music. The concept is about people that magically appear in our lives with an intensity of emotions and experience, and then suddenly leave - even without a trace - in a way that is so surreal that it makes us question our sanity and if it was reality at all.

Opportunity for collaboration: at this stage, we are looking to people to collaborate with for below roles:

  • main character (female, long dark hair)

  • fashion designer or stylist

  • art studio / venue to showcase the film along with installations and photos

Stages

Stage I. Memories

Visuals: details and memories about the main character (the fleeting one).
Scenes: Microexpressions of her laughing, smiling, holding a pink flower and playing with it, climbing on an aluminium ladder up towards a tree, walking on a field, touching leaves or grass, touching flowing water, touching glass + reflection (Magyar Zene Háza, night time), walking among the iron bars (back light, LED), climbing on a rock while reaching downwards (fingertips in focus, shallow dof)

Music & sounds: This is where the poem will be read aloud, so the background music should not be very prominent. Something soft and happy.

Stage II. Leaving

Visuals: disappearance, confusion. Visuals will get more dreamy in this part. Main character will wear a black translucent gown. There will be scenes that will emphasize the absence.
Scenes:

  • Her walking through a field, shot starts with hand, touching grass, flowers... hair blown by wind. His hand gets closer, slight touch, she moves away, walks faster and faster, starts running. Camera follows from behind through grass and flowers

  • Her walking through a field in black gown. Details under the black gown, microexpressions rapidly changing (under black gown), ladder empty at same spot and fall over to the side, flower petals falling like snow, pink lillies in a bush or middle of a field (symbolism)

Music: sudden blast of noise and bang + dissonant church organ (noise like like Mattia Cupelli), ears ringing sound, then silence... melody and sounds get distorted and develop an echo like if it was coming from afar, sounds are unrelated to scenes, muddled up and confusing.

Stage III. Ego death

Visuals: Lillies randomly appearing on forest path, lillies burning, close-up of lillies burning. Surrealist symbolism of "random" objects and scenes. Dream-like scenes. Her appearing only very vaguely, like suddenly running through the scene, hair blown by the wind into the scene. Cortisol rush, red / blue lights, strobe lights. Fire burning, ice, smoke.
Music: Builds up slowly from silence (like Sicario - The Beast) Distorted bangs and clashes, like Mattia Cupelli style (ie. Mapping)

Stage IV. Inner Peace

Inner peace is about acceptance, closure, and discovering that we'll be okay either way. No one can break us if they leave. We will always have ourselves. People may come and go, but they become nothing, just like we become nothing one day.

Visuals: Beauty of nature, sun shining through laves, water flowing, flowers, wind blowing flower, insects crawling (lot of macro shots), textures. Maybe even city scenes to show that life goes on.
Music: Noise fades away into a peaceful melody... calm, forest sounds, birds chirping
